Cordova![]() Prof. Armando Córdova is a chemist from Stockholm in Sweden who performs research at Mid Sweden University and the Arrhenius Laboratory at Stockholm University. He obtained his M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering in 1995 and Ph.D. in 1998 at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. He then took an appointment at the Swedish Pulp and Paper Research Institute (STFI). Prof. Córdova is also co-founder of the chemical company OrganoClick AB, which made an IPO at NASDAQ in 2015 and have large-scale production and sales throughout the world.

Knölker![]() Editorial Board Member: Hans-Joachim Knölker Prof. Dr. Knölker received his Ph.D. at the University of Hannover (1985). After postdoctoral studies at the University of California in Berkeley (1986), he did his habilitation at the University of Hannover (1990). He was appointed as full professor of organic chemistry first at the University of Karlsruhe (1991) and then moved to the Technische Universität Dresden (2001). He was a visiting scientist in India as fellow of the Indian National Science Academy (2000) and twice in Japan as fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, JSPS (1998, University of Tsukuba and 2007, Kyushu University). In 2006, Prof. Knölker was elected as an Ordinary Member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences and became a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Since 2011, he is the editor-in-chief of the series “The Alkaloids” (Academic Press, London). His research areas include the development of novel synthetic methodologies, organometallic chemistry, natural product synthesis, biomolecular chemistry, and medicinal chemistry. Professor Knölker’s group has published more than 280 scientific articles, reviews and patents.

Cook![]() Dr. James Cook is a University Distinguished Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he has been since 1973. He received a BS in Chemistry with Honors from West Virginia University in 1967. He worked with Professor Phillip LeQuesne at The University of Michigan from 1968-1971 and received his PhD in Organic Chemistry. During doctoral studies he worked on Alkaloidal N-oxides in Hallucinogenic Drugs and on Alkaloids of Alstonia muelleriana Domin. He joined Professor James P. Kutney’s group at The University of British Columbia as a postdoctoral fellow in 1972. In 1973 he joined The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to The University Distinguished Professor in 2002. He has published over 420 papers and has received The UW-System Innovator Award, as well as The UW-Milwaukee Innovator Award and a JSPS fellowship. He currently holds grants from NIMH, NINDS, GM, NIAG, NIHBL and NIAAA for drug design.

Cordova![]() Prof. Armando Córdova is a chemist from Stockholm in Sweden who performs research at Mid Sweden University and the Arrhenius Laboratory at Stockholm University. He then took an appointment at the Swedish Pulp and Paper Research Institute (STFI). Prof. Córdova is also co-founder of the chemical company OrganoClick AB, which made an IPO at NASDAQ in 2015 and have large-scale production and sales throughout the world.

His research program focuses on engineering the interface between hard and soft materials, with > 480 peer-reviewed publications to date.

Shaik![]() Dr. Shaik Anwar received his Master’s (2002) in Chemistry from the University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, India. He was a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (with Richard Schrock) in 2011/12. In august 2012 he became Reader in Organic Chemistry in the University of Southampton. He have been visiting Professor in Nagoya Institute of Technology (Japan) and Sungkyunkwan (SKKU) University (South Korea). He is author more than 115 papers, 13 chapters in chemical books, and 1 patent. He has edited a book about the Pauson-Khand reaction, and one about organocatalysis. In total he has more than 4600 citations and Idh = 41. He was also editor of Asymmetric Organocatalysis (Ed. Versitas).His research interests are the development of new asymmetric methodologies based in Organocatalysis and/or Organometallic Chemistry.
